AGNES Water's streets will be safer at night after Gladstone Regional Council approved plans to improve street lighting incrementally over the next 10 years on Tuesday at a council general meeting.
Reports from a consultant hired to assess street lighting in Agnes Water were noted by the council.
Street lighting in Agnes Water was found to be below minimum standard.
Councillor Col Chapman requested that turtle breeding sights receive special consideration in the selection of the type of lighting, and the meeting agreed to consider this when funds are allocated for the project.
Funds will be allocated as part of the annual review of the Gladstone region's Long Term Financial Plan.
